A Season of Days
Filed Under (Mountain Updates, Movie Updates) by admin on 26-04-2011
It was the season Magic turned the corner. Hard work both by management and Magic’s skiers made for an unforgettable season. Magic skiers old and new became fast friends as the urgency to save our beloved mountain brought us together. The result: tons of fun, 240 shares and the rebirth of Magic’s original festive spirit.
Team Save Magic spent another season with laser beams strapped to their heads so that they could capture what makes Magic so special to us. We share it with you in the hopes that you will see some aspect you want to experience and come ski our mountain. Maybe capes and moustaches are not your thing but hopefully you will see something you want to explore or remember. It might be a new glade, the torchlight parade or just a quiet groomer with your kid. Thanks Guy for cutting up the footage as always, high fives to 2011.

Slide of Fire
Filed Under (Mountain Updates, Movie Updates) by admin on 07-03-2011
As March rolls in, it is hard to fathom that another season of saving magic is ¾ finished. Saturday was a surprise fantastic day with Upper Magician, Blackline and Redline delivering all afternoon. The mountain sold its 226th share and even with the ominous forecast, there were numerous rows full in the back lot.
What would have been the busiest day in years past seemed like a window of tranquility after last week’s overwhelmingly successful Black Magic Challenge.
If you happened to be at Magic February 26th and 27th I think one would agree that something great is happening this year. People are talking about our mountain all over the Internet. Many of the competitors exclaimed how impressed they were with the quality and extent of Magic’s terrain. More importantly, many spoke about Magic’s strong sense of community and purpose.
Thank You Snow Wizards, Ski The East, The Magic Alpine Club, The Magic Special Ops Crew, Jim, and Tom for an unprecedented weekend of festivities. Powder, Torchlight skiing and 120 of the best freestyle competitors on the East Coast combined to make Magic the center of east coast free skiing for forty eight wonderful hours.

Commander In Chief

Winter is going way too fast which I guess means it has been too much fun. Thaw, freeze and power outage aside the crew managed to knock out some great grooming for us and save president’s weekend.
This Saturday don’t miss the Black Magic Challenge and the 49th Annual Torchlight Parade, where playing with fire doesn’t get you in trouble. (Glowstick parade just prior for the young ones)
With a foot of snow potentially on the way, this could shape up to be a fantastic weekend. And so we bring you…..Commander In Chief

Have you noticed how alive the hill seems to be this year? Well that’s because it is, paid skier visits are up by 1/3 to date thanks to all of you! Remember there are 97 shares left until Magic can embark on its capital improvement program. Help make “Save Magic” become “Saved Magic,” and consider becoming a shareholder.

Mhistorya
Filed Under (Mountain Updates, Movie Updates) by admin on 21-01-2011
Word on the street was that a few people complained about long lines last weekend. I am happy to wait 7 minutes for the Red Chair if someone keeps the red chair open. Last weekend was a record MLK holiday. Coming off of a record Christmas season , this is a nice accomplishment. Mother nature has had her timing down this season so far!
The hill picked up 7-10” of some snow Tuesday with a little layer of crust, perfect for base building. Some more of the natural stuff is supposed to fall tonight, which should allow us to forget about the snow snakes for a while!
For this weekend expect a groomed east side, Wizard groomed on the west side and the rest will be “au natural”.
For now, Save Magic brings you Guy Douchette’s “Mhistorya,” a quick bit of skiing and Magic history shot over MLK weekend.

We would like to thank everyone who is spreading the word about Magic and to provide you with a little taste our friend Guy Douchette brings you: Marry Me

Open The Cape
Filed Under (Mountain Updates, Movie Updates) by admin on 22-12-2010
Opening weekend was a blast! Each trail was groomed edge-to-edge and fully covered! The surface was a blast to carve, and when we scratched it all up, they put magic back there for us Sunday!
On our last run down around 3:15, the crew was already hooking up hoses and placing fan guns. The learning area is now covered and Showoff has a fresh batch of Magic Snow. The crew will now focus their attention on Magic Carpet and Medium providing multiple routes down the Mountain.
So if you missed it we are happy to provide you with Guy Douchette’s first glimpse of the season.
